Tahiti Take Two: Surfing Images from Peter 'Joli' Wilson
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 18 August, 2013 : - - Bonjour from Teahup'oo, After yesterday's picture perfect conditions today's lay day call for the Billabong Pro has given me a chance to catch my breath and load up some images from the past two days of surfing action.
I've covered this event every year since it's humble beginnings as the Black Pearl WQS back in 1997 and I have to say that yesterday was one the classic days. The west swell was throwing up '4-6' barrels and the wind stayed virtually non existent all day giving us perfect glassy barrels for every heat.

The surface of the wave was so smooth and the water so clear that it picking up reflections from the reef and the colors from the surfers boards and contest jerseys. I've seen this happen at times, usually in the mornings, but never for the whole day.
The surf wasn't huge or intimidating but fun and inviting and the guys in the Top 34 certainly had a lot of fun out there. I've still go a lot of images to edit and will continue to do so but here is a taste of what the last couple of days have been like.
You may be prompted to log in to identify yourself. (If you don't already have a login, you can quickly create one as needed.) Merci and there will be more images uploaded over the coming days. Cheers Joli
