At the center of a heated bidding war between labels when he went to the big leagues, Jordy was courted by Nike and settled with O'Neill for a million-something-per year contract. "Definite World Champion" was bandied about and with that the weight of the world fell onto the boy-wonder's shoulders. Inconsistent results plagued him through the early years on tour but Jordy is currently stringing together consistent results and sitting in the top five. Jordy's surfing is surprisingly nimble for such a big guy. No one on tour mixes heavy rail work with light-footed airs as well as Jordy.
