Jordy Smith wed Lyndall Jarvis in Cape Town on Saturday
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 5 February, 2014 - It dawned a stunning day in Cape Town on February 1, the day after the hottest day of the year in the Mother City. It was a big day for Smith and Jarvis, as after a three-year courtship they were set to take their vows, exchange rings and become husband and wife.
In front of 200 guests at the Grand Beach Café in the Waterfront they did just that, and became a very happy couple to the whoops of their friends and the raining of confetti.
The evening was one of fun and laughter, and the night was a massive dance-floor affair as surprise guests GoldFish took to the stage and rocked a set, including Smith's one and only single ‘Flying Stealth’ that he recorded with the duo a few years ago.
With a very busy schedule ahead for both of them at the early stage of the year, the couple has decided to wait until the timing is right before they go on honeymoon.
Smith has made it very clear that he is going to win the world title this year, and he and his new wife will be jetting off to Australia for the first event of the year, the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast, at the end of February. This will be followed by the Margaret River event in Western Australia, and then the Rip Curl Bells Beach Easter Classic.
