Deal extends existing partnership, includes new events
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 1 March, 2016 - Milwaukee and Surfing Australia have extended and strengthened their relationship, announcing a new two year deal today.
Under the partnership, Milwaukee will continue as a major corporate partner of Surfing Australia along with a support sponsor of the Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle Series and the Australian Surfing Awards incorporating the Hall of Fame.
Adding to the award’s high stakes, Milwaukee will be presenting the Milwaukee Waterman of the Year award, which includes a $2,000 winner’s cheque and $1,500 Milwaukee tool pack at surfing’s night of night in Manly on Thursday 3rd March, 2016. The sponsorship will primarily include a variety of digital content, which will deliver high quality, engaging content.
Content will include the Heavy Duty Moments series with Hippo, a digital content series documenting pro surfer and Milwaukee ambassador Ryan ‘Hippo’ Hipwood and his surfing exploits on the Gold Coast and beyond.

Presenting the Milwaukee Waterman of the Year Award at the prestigious Australian Surfing Awards this Thursday is a perfect segue to a series of great content and activations to follow. Milwaukee is very excited to have extended this partnership until 2017!”
Further bolstering the relationship is another new activation in the Heavy Duty Impact Series which will showcase some of surfing’s biggest waves, biggest wipe-outs and some of the most hard-core surfers on the planet. The six episode series will start in March and run through to May and will be complemented by a social competition.

Yet again the hugely successful Milwaukee Heavy Duty Hack competition will be activated across the Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle in Summer 2016/17 and via a social competition, which is all about capturing the biggest and best power moves that surfing offers.
Rounding off the partnership will be the Milwaukee Next Gen Rippers series, capturing the next generation of Australian surfers through the selection of young apprentices to feature in a three part series running from June- August which will highlight the difference they are making in the surf whilst working hard on their careers.
Milwaukee content will be activated across multiple digital platforms including mySURF.tv, Surfing Australia TV on GO and Fox Sports, and Surfing Australia’s websites and social media assets.
