Portuguese/German surfer Nic von Rupp surfs mega storm Hercules waves

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 8 January, 2014 -- Nic von Rupp surfs huge waves in Ireland because of mega storm "Hercules" with the swell of the century making headlines  in the UK "The Times".

The mega storm Hercules arrived in Britain today, forecasted at 20 meters-plus waves with winds up to 130 km/h. Those are conditions that made the professional surfer Nic von Rupp to fly to Ireland in search of the Dream wave.

This Monday, Nic von Rupp, the German surfer, made history by integrating a unique batch of gladiators who surfed one of the biggest swells of all times in the Atlantic Ocean.

According to Nic,  "It was a day full of emotions, but right now I have the feeling of the mission accomplished”. The conditions weren't as expected, it was really hard to be in the right spot but I ended up getting a couple of good waves. Now it's time to rest because there's another round tomorrow."

It was in one of these good waves that the athlete from Germany ended up on an a photo of an article in the UK Times and made the prime time news in Portugal.

For the next days, the forecast anticipates a decrease in the intensity of the Giant mega storm Hercules, however, Nic will keep a few more days in Ireland.
