Noosa Festival of Surfing

Noosa Heads, Queensland Australia
5 - 12 March 2015

Event will see more than 10,000 visitors next year

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 23 August, 2015 - Each year, Noosa becomes temporary home to over 600 surf festival competitors, their families and an estimated 10,000 visitors from around the world during the first half of March for “8 Days of Pure Stoke”.

The influx of guests in a traditionally quiet time is a boon to the local economy, bringing a huge increase of business for retail, hospitality and accommodation businesses throughout the town and its surrounds.

We are thrilled to welcome the international contingent (14 countries represented this year) to our hometown and the support of the local community makes the Noosa Festival of Surfing such a resounding success year after year.

With the addition of a new division – the Under 15 Girls – the 2016 festival caters to an even wider range of competitors. Usual divisions, including the Body Womp, the Finless Pro, stand up paddle events and the Waterman Challenge, expand the appeal of the festival beyond its core of stalwart longboarders, creating a celebration of surfing in all its forms.

Local accommodation houses reap the benefits of this pre-Easter, off-season boost, accounting for almost every bed in the immediate vicinity. Our accommodation sponsors provide rooms not only for guests of the festival, but also essential residence for festival staff, and it is only with their generous support that the eight-day Noosa Festival of Surfing is achievable.

Competitors and visitors for the 2016 Noosa Festival of Surfing are strongly advised to book in advance for the event, taking place 5-12 March, 2016.

The festival management is welcoming expressions of interest for accommodation sponsorship for our 25th Anniversary, offering promotion through social media, our website and newsletters to our international contingent of competitors and followers.
