Paige Hareb puts Manly behind her & hits Newcastle hard

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 19 February, 2014 - Already February and the first contest done and dusted just like that. One down, about 16 to go for me.

After feeling the healthiest and fittest I've felt in a long time I did expect to do well at the Australian Open but unfortunately we got half a foot wind swell waves that I couldn't seem to get more than one good turn on. It really is disappointing but I got the same result here last year and still qualified so that's a positive haha still so many events to go but it would be nice to get a good result next week in Newcastle.

On a positive note I got to meet all the crew at surfboard cover company seven.t who I have just signed up with which is awesome! They have super cool designs and you can even design your own custom one which I think is pretty cool! Check them out at seventsurf.com and support both of us!

I've loved my week in Manly, Sydney. Staying a block back from the beach, within walking distance to the corso of great shops, restaurants and the Manly wharf where Mum and I caught the ferry across to the main Sydney city for a bit of shopping and more eating!

I was lucky enough to team up with Air New Zealand and their competition winners Simon and Rach to take them surfing. They both stood up a couple of times and came out grinning so I guess I did my job as an instructor ok!

There's so many close surf breaks up the coast and it's all close to a big city, the best of both worlds, no wonder so many people want to live here.

Time to let that one go and move on to focusing on a win in Newcastle. Let's go!
