Paige and Bec's Central American walk about footage
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 14 August, 2013 : - - Over three months away, it's great to be home. After Biarritz with not a wave in sight, we were forced to seek out the Wave Garden located in 'the middle of nowhere' across the border in Spain. I would love one of these in my backyard.
Heading to the big US of A, I thought I was ready for any kind of waves. That Huntington Beach...ahh what can I say, it is a 'difficult' 2ft onshore, close-out wave. America usually likes to do things the biggest and the best but the quality of waves at Huntington is far from that unfortunately. Waves are the same for everyone and I was deeply disappointed at my early round exit.

With no results that I was happy with and less than half the year to go, I really had to re-evaluate everything, dig deep and pull something out of the bag. Last year I got second at the Supergirl Pro in Oceanside. This time it felt like ground-hog day, only a year later.
Everything went the same, including my second place finish. Jumping me from 24th to eighth on the rankings, giving me a great chance to re-qualify for the 2014 ASP Women's World Tour.
Now, back home for 10 days to recuperate and get some snow time in before heading back to Europe for the last four competitions of the year. Bring it on!
