Joli view of my "Teahupo'o Billabong Pro Tahiti 2013" images
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 20 August, 2013 : - - Bonjour one last time from Teahupo'o, The 2013 Billabong Pro Tahiti took advantage of a strong west to south west swell and powered through the whole event in three days. Adrian Ace Buchan took out the second WCT final of his career with a win over Kelly Slater in barreling Teahupo'o waves. Ace's other final appearance was also against Kelly in France a few years back which he also won.
All three days of the event provided clean barreling waves and I haven't seen the breakdown of the scores yet but I would consider this event would have to rate in the top few percent for rides in the 'Excellent' category with so many 8''s, 9's and perfect 10 point rides being thrown down.

The west swell was providing a A frame peak at times with Jeremy Flores getting a 9.33 going right and Kelly Slater, chasing a winning score even tried going right in the final and ended up with an 8.3.
It was hard to shoot this contest because all you wanted to do was push the button down and keep it down as the guys wove there way through the tube after tube. There are quite a few sequences in this Gallery because it was hard to do justice to the waves and the action with single images.

I've been working on images overnight and uploading to this Gallery today and with so much action over the three days there are quite a lot of images to browse through.
The little plywood shed aka 'Media Room' at the end of the Teahupoo marina will be shut down tomorrow morning and the plug will be pulled on the internet so there probably won't be any more updates from Tahiti. With so many images there will be more uploads when I get back to Australia. Once again Merci from Tahiti. My time here always seems to go too fast. Joli
