Bodyboarding's elite to greet fans before the IBA Pipe Challenge
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 29 January, 2014 -- Honolulu, Hawaii - Before they paddle out to the lineup at Pipeline to start the battle for a world title, more than two dozen top-ranked bodyboarding pros will greet fans at T&C Surf’s “Go Big!” at Ala Moana Center Stage on Sunday, February 16th.
The 17th annual event, which serves as the official kick-off for the IBA Pipe Challenge, the first event on the IBA World Tour. It is also the first event on the IBA Hawaii Tour with Hawaii Pros and International Pros going head to head.
Go Big lets fans mingle with the pros and gives away tons of bodyboarding gear. The event is free and open to the public.
Over two dozen top-ranked pros are scheduled to attend the event include 3x world champion Jeff Hubbard, past 9x world champion Mike Stewart, 6x world champion Guilherme Tamega and other top contenders.
From 3 – 5 pm T&C Surf will be on stage with a live deejay giving away over two dozen bodyboards, plus fins, leashes, board bags and more! Contestants will be called on stage to compete for prizes in a series of off-the-wall games – a tradition at the “Go Big!” every year.
Perennial favorites such as “Stack the Wax” and “Towel Changing” are on the agenda, along with some outrageous new games.
