Held over Easter weekend from the 19th to 21st of April, the event is one of the oldest in Europe and unofficially kicks off the start of the surfing season in France.
Many surfers from all over Europe will show up in Biarritz to compete, among them champions who regularly represent France on the global stage. Vincent Duvignac, Maxime Huscenot, Patrick Bevan, Marc Lacomare and Joan Duru are some of the more well-known surfers who will compete this year.
On the Women’s side Maud Lecar, Leticia Canales, Ana Morau, Josephine Costes and others will take part.
The event started 30 years ago when Robert Rabagny sought to celebrate the memory of a lost friend, Maider.
