Quiksilver Joins Forces with Evian
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 24 March 2004: - - The Quiksilver Slopestyle Pro snowboard event, held from March 14th to 17th in Les Arcs, kicked-off a new partnership between Quiksilver and Evian. Currently, this alliance covers only the surf and snowboard events organized by the Boardriding Company in France.
Pierre Agnès, General Manager of Quiksilver Europe declared, We are thrilled to have Evians presence at our surf and snowboard events in France. Beyond just water, the obvious element and link between our brands, Evian appealed to us through its modernity and its constant ability to innovate. We share not only common values - commitment to youth, purity and respect for the environment - but also the way in which we convey them.
This union will provide Quiksilver with an additional marketing vehicle, optimizing the impact and visibility of its events, while expanding a shared communications platform with Evian based on values such as respect for the environment. As for Evian, they will not only benefit from a high visual profile at Quiksilver events, but will also be granted a privileged association with some of the teams top new world elite riders, such as Jeremy Flores in surfing, or Matthew Crepel. This young snowboard ace gave an excellent performance to finish 2nd at Quiksilver Slopestyle Pro behind Swedish rider Hampus Mosesson, and earned himself a place in the upcoming Arctic Challenge in Norway.
Patrick Buffard, Marketing Director at Evian, added, Evian is delighted to be allied with Quiksilver. Our brands are connected by strong values and are both leaders in their markets. Since the creation of the Evian Masters, now the second-largest womens golf tournament in the world, Evian has been looking to become more involved in sports and to be associated with athletes. Evian is more than ever a natural source of youth since becoming directly involved with young surfers and snowboarders.
