Owen Wright at Surfing Australia High Performance Centre (HPC)
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 28 March, 2011 : - - Casurina, NSW - Top Australian surfer Owen Wright (Lennox Head, NSW) returned to the Surfing Australia High Performance Centre (HPC) over the weekend to give a bunch of promising Australian junior surfers the opportunity to take their surfing to the next level.
The 21-year old surfing sensation, who was present for the introduction of his own surf camp in 2010, again passed on valuable pointers and guidance to some lucky junior surfers at the second annual Rip Curl Owen Wright Surf Camp.
The two day surf camp at the Surfing Australia HPC was designed to give young Australian surfers (boys and girls aged between 8-17) a once in a lifetime opportunity to surf, meet and hangout with one of the country's best surfers.
Wright was once again impressed with the level of surfing displayed by the kids. The kids were all ripping in the surf, he said. I really enjoyed hanging out with them and answering any questions they had about my life as a professional surfer.
Over two days, camp attendees were given specialist surf coaching from Surfing Australia's finest fully accredited surf coaches Gary Cruickshank and Samba Mann, along with video analysis of each surfing session, product bags from Rip Curl and the opportunity to meet and surf with Wright.
"It's great to see that Australia's best surfers are available to the next generation of surfers," said Cruickshank. "Owen (Wright) is a fantastic role model for surfing.
Surfing Australia's HPC Camps cater for all surfers whether they are looking to finish their first cutback or start landing aerials. Breakfast and Lunch included each day.
