One-to-two foot surf and offshore winds not enough to run

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 17 July, 2014 - Small waves and the prospect of classic conditions at Supertubes on the weekend prompted organisers to call a third consecutive lay day. Surfline, official forecasters for the J-Bay Open, are calling for building surf on Friday and a solid swell peaking through the weekend. Event organizers will reconvene at 7:00 a.m. local time (GMT +2) on Friday, July 18 to assess conditions.
Australians Joel Parkinson, Matt Wilkinson and Owen Wright, along with Alejo Muniz (BRA) have already qualified for the Quarterfinals. When competition resumes the first heat of Round 5 will feature Josh Kerr (AUS) against Adriano de Souza (BRA) with the winner advancing to the Quarterfinals.

J-Bay Open Round 5 Match-Ups:
Heat 1: Josh Kerr (AUS) vs. Adriano de Souza (BRA)
Heat 2: Kolohe Andino (USA) vs. Taj Burrow (AUS)
