Rusty & Billabong team up to replicate Occy's magic board from 1984

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 6 November, 2014 - Rusty & Billabong have teamed up to produce a line of surfboards that are replicas of the board Mark “Occy” Occhilupo was surfing when he stormed onto the surf scene at Jay Bay 30 years ago, in 1984.

Thirty years ago, a 17 year old erupted onto the world tour. His backside surfing at Jay Bay was, and still is the best ever seen. He stole the spotlight from the era’s most popular surfer, Tom Curren. And the whole time, Mark “Occy” Occhilupo had a Rusty Preisendorfer surfboard under his feet.

Its now 30 years since Occy’s electric intro into the surfing world and to celebrate Rusty, Occy & Billabong present the descendant of Occy’s magic board, an exact replica of the Rusty 84 model, complete with retro Rusty & Billabong logos.
