New Sea Vees Fall 2015 collection to debut at Surf Expo
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 24 December, 2014 - Santa Barbara, California –SeaVees announces the release of its fall 2015 collection, The Days of Dharma, inspired by Jack Kerouac’s The Dharma Bums.
Loosely inspired by Jack Kerouac’s The Dharma Bums: the juxtaposition of the remote wilderness and the cosmopolitan nerve-center, of mountaineering and hitchhiking versus jazz clubs and cafe society.
SeaVees found its inspiration in the city of San Francisco, where the push toward modern living meets the pull toward simpler times. A balance between both worlds, SeaVees’ fall 2015 collection is subtly sophisticated creating a compelling contrast between keeping it casual and completing the look of a tailored suit.
The collection is made up of a subtle yet refined color pallet using colors Putty, Greyboard, and Port with key fabrication features such as a dusty sueded nubuck, oiled calf suede and touches of box calf.
Subtleties such as self-brushed eyelets, waxed laces, and untreated soft vegetable tanned leather hits elevate the collection to a new level of casual sophistication. The 08/69 Mare Island Swift Boot, a new key style for fall 2015 for men, is a gored boot inspired by Naval pull on boots of the 1960’s intended to be worn on board military ships.
Another mentionable style is the 06/64 Legend Sneaker in high quality box calf leather, a fresh update to a suit or tailored look. The collection also includes a new version of the best-selling style the 12/67 3 Eye Chukka which is waterproof with a classic Vibram lug outsole.
The latest collection pays homage to simpler times and uncomplicated stripped-down things, while still appreciating life’s little luxuries, urging us to follow our dharma on a journey of inner peace and understanding—wherever it may take us.
The collection will be available at SeaVees.com, national retailers and better boutiques nationwide in Jan/Feb 2015 and will retail from $78-$198
