NSW Bodyboard State Title - Event One

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 6 May, 2014  - Jones Beach, Kiama - The second day of the first event of the NSW Bodyboard State Titles returned to Jones Beach today to finish the second round of the junior divisions in clean two-foot (1m) waves. Picking up from where they left off yesterday, Issac Evans (Port Macqaurie), Shayden Schrader (Port Macqaurie) and Darcy Bourke (Copacabana) all managed to steal themselves a win in the second round of the Junior Boys division to earn themselves a spot in the semi-finals. Schrader, Evans and Bourke all managed to lock in heat totals in excess of 9.5 points (out of a possible 20) to take their respective wins.

The Drop Knee division made its debut today with a handful of surfers performing solid turns and locking in respectable scores. Mitchell Ashcroft (Sandy Beach) led the way in the division, successfully linking together an eclectic mix of carves and snaps to lock in the highest wave score of the day, a 8.83 (out of a possible 10 points). Consequently, Ashcroft booked his spot into tomorrow’s semi-final.
