Queensland Bodyboarding team to be selected

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 28 April, 2014 - A 2014 Queensland Bodyboarding team will be selected to compete at the forthcoming Australian Titles this weekend on the Sunshine Coast.

The second round of a two-event Queensland State Bodyboarding Titles series will be held on the Sunshine Coast this weekend, with accumulative points from the recent Gold Coast event ultimately deciding those who will represent the State at the National Titles in August.

Gold Coast wunderkind Calen Jordan (Palm Beach, QLD) became the first Australian to win consecutive Cadet and Junior Australian Titles in 2012 and 2013, and this weekend will be looking to qualify for his chance to bag a third.

Jordan, 16, will first have to beat a field of locals on their home turf including Budrim’s Simon Cassidy who will be looking to utilize his local knowledge to best the in-form Gold Coaster.

Early indications point towards blustery conditions for the opening day of the two-day event, however windy conditions may prove the hero with aerials scoring big points with judges.

The Queensland State Bodyboarding Title series is proudly supported by VS, Stealth, BSC, Hogs Breath cafe, Inverted Bodyboards, Be the influence, Coastalwatch Plus, Australian Skin Cancer Clinics, World Surfaris, Chiko, the Queensland Government, HIF and Surfing Queensland.
