Gold Coast's surf forecast looking up for this weekend's event

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 27 April, 2015 - Gold Coast, Queensland - With the first event of the 2015 HIF Masters & Women’s series presented by World Surfaris set to kick off this weekend on the Gold Coast in what looks to be a favourable forecast, event officials anticipate a high calibre of competitive surfing in epic conditions.

Surfing Queensland spokesman Cory Roberts says, “We saw a similar forecast last year for the second event of this series which undoubtedly proved to be some of the best surfing conditions fall on our 2014 events calendar and with some of Queensland’s best surfers competing in this weekend’s event we don’t doubt that this year will be the same.”

“Queensland has some of the best surfers in the nation within all divisions of this series and we’re looking forward again to brining another firm team to this year’s Australian Surf Festival at Coffs Harbour,” Roberts continued.

The two-event series will crown Queensland Masters State Champions across the O/35, O/40, O/45, O/50, O/55 and O/60 Men’s divisions as well as female competitors across the Open Women’s and O/35 divisions.

The HIF Masters & Women’s series offers the exclusive qualification pathway for competitors aiming for selection into the Queensland Surfing Team set to compete at the Australian Open Surfmasters Titles.
