Brown, August & Hynson will attend Surf Expo screening

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 12 November, 2013 - Surf Expo will kick off the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Bruce Brown’s iconic film The Endless Summer at their upcoming show January 9-11, 2014 in Orlando Florida.

“We are proud to celebrate and commemorate this iconic surf film at Surf Expo. Not only has nearly every surfer on earth been inspired or influenced in some way by The Endless Summer, but the impact it has had on our industry, our fashion, art, music and lifestyle is unmatched” said Roy Turner, Show Director of Surf Expo.
The celebration will kick off with an exclusive screening of The Endless Summer with live commentary from the movie’s director, Bruce Brown and stars, Robert August and Mike Hynson. Robert “Wingnut” Weaver, star of The Endless Summer II, will host the event to be held opening night of Surf Expo.

Leading actor Robert August noted “I’m so excited to spend this celebration with my industry friends and all my East Coast buddies at Surf Expo!” 
“The roster of events will not only embrace surfing history with The Endless Summer and the East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame’s 2013 inductee ceremony, but recognize and honor the newest generation of surfing with Eastern Surf Association’s All Stars introduction ceremony”, said Surf Expo’s Marketing Director Adrienne Belk.
The celebration at Surf Expo will be the kickoff event to commemorate the momentous anniversary. All Surf Expo exhibitors and attendees are welcomed to attend.
The next Surf Expo is January 9-11, 2014 in the West Hall of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando Florida.

Surf Expo is the longest running and largest boardsports and beach/resort lifestyle trade show in the world. Produced in January and September the show draws buyers from specialty stores, major resorts, cruise lines and beach rental companies across the U.S., the Caribbean, Central and South America and around the world. 

Surf Expo features approximately 2,500 booths of apparel and hardgoods and a full line-up of special events, including fashion shows, annual award ceremonies and demos. All shows are open to trade only.

Bruce Brown Films (BBF) is a film production company created nearly 60 years ago that produced a number of lifestyle documentary films, the most notable of which being The Endless Summer (1964) and On Any Sunday (1971), which garnered an Academy Award nomination for Documentary Feature.

Today, BBF continues to provide its loyal fan base and general public with filmmaker Bruce Brown’s classic films and associated images for current and future generations to cherish. Bruce Brown caught his first wave in 1951 and was the second recipient of the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association Waterman of the Year Award.
