Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 January, 2008 : - - Atlanta, Ga – The Board, Beach and Fashion industries’ manufacturers and retailers worldwide are gathering in Orlando, Florida to kick off the 2008 trade show season once again at Surf Expo.

More than 9,200 retailers have pre-registered, with over a third of these first time attendees—Surf Expo’s highest pre-registration number ever. They are coming to meet with nearly 1,000 exhibitors across the Surf, Skate, Boutique, Resort, Souvenir and Swim show categories. Surf Expo’s business-first registration process ensures accurate counts of both exhibitor and retailer attendance.

This January’s Surf Expo has two opening days. These sections’ four-day show will run January 10-13 in the North Hall.

The next day, Friday, January 11, the booths in the Surf and Skate sections of the floor will open for business. The Surf and Skate sections’ three-day show will run January 11-13 in the South Hall.

Thursday is Surf Expo’s Bonus Buying Day, with several promotions and buyer incentives in place to ensure a busy opening day for its North Hall exhibitors. On Friday business will open on the South Side with Surf Expo in full swing.

On Friday night Surf Expo honors its roots with the East Coast Surf Legends Hall of Fame induction of surf great Greg Noll and several others, followed by the awards presentation for the five-star Sebastian Inlet Pro and the WQS: Crowning of Champions. This event is open to all registered buyers and exhibitors.

Show attendees can take a break to catch some of the Volcom skate contest. A variety of Lounges in the Boutique and Resort areas offer alternatives to the live bands and beer served daily in the Sector 9 Beer Garden outside the Skate section.

The regular Surf Expo staples like fashion shows—including a daily swim showcase for Ed Hardy, the New Exhibitor and Surfboard Manufacturers showcases, dynamic seminars and special treats like free AM coffee at the Tiki Lounge are only among the elements offered to all attendees.

Surf Expo’s golf tournament is open to both retailers and exhibitors, and spots are still available. The tournament is Wednesday at 12:30PM and the weather is going to be perfect at mid-70’s. Sign up on site at Rosen Shingle Creek behind the Orange County Convention Center at 9939 Universal Blvd. Singles through foursomes welcome. $85 per person. Find more info on surfexpo.com.
