Surf Expo Launches First West Coast Back-To-School Tradeshow; Quiksilver & Hurley Among Manufacturers Committed To Surf Expo West, March 11-12, 2002 At The Anaheim Convention Center
ANAHEIM, Calif. - Quiksilver (Huntington Beach, Calif.) and Hurley (Costa Mesa, Calif.) are among the top manufacturers verbally committed to exhibiting at Surf Expo West, March 11-12, 2002, at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Surf Expo, the East Coast´s leading producer of tradeshows for the boardsports and watersports, announced the West Coast´s first-ever surf/skate/street back-to-school tradeshow last month in response to industry demand.
A burgeoning market for manufacturers and specialty retailers in the $2 billion surf/skate industry, the Fall/back-to-school season continues to grow in importance. Surf Expo research estimates that 25% of the industry´s total annual surf shop and specialty store sales are for Fall-related products.
"The business of surfing has changed dramatically over the past few years as manufacturers have developed products for juniors and kids," said Body Glove (Hermosa Beach, Calif.) marketing Director Scott Daley. "This makes the timing of Surf Expo West very attractive to many companies."
For Quiksilver, the world´s largest surfwear manufacturer, back-to-school represents their number two selling season. "We welcome the timing for the Surf Expo back-to-school show. It services our local sales reps (representatives) and retailers," said Quiksilver´s Tom Holbrook, a committed exhibitor. "Surf Expo does a great job overall and they have a great long-term plan in place for the back-to-school show."
