Man was airlifted to nearby St George with serious injuries
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 30 March, 2016 - A surfer was attacked by a shark at Kiama, South of Sydney in New South Wales today. He is listed in critical, but stable condition.
The unidentified man was surfing at Bombo Beach and sustained serious injuries to his thigh and hands. He told authorities he did not see the shark that attacked him.
According to the Daily Telegraph a shark biologist is examining photos taken from the scene by NSW Surf Life Saving club of the wounds to determine the species of shark responsible for the attack.
The 22-year-old was flown to St George Hospital where he remains.
