Man brought to shore by other surfers in the lineup
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 8 November, 2015 - A surfer enjoying a session near Byron Bay is in critical contidion after being struck by lightning. The incident happened Sunday morning at Suffolk Park, south of Byron Bay on the New South Wales coast.
Reports are that the man was in the water, not on the beach when he was hit.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald Ambulance Service of NSW paramedics treated the man at the scene before taking him to the Tweed Hospital in a critical condition.
The man, believed to be aged in his 30s, was surfing with friends who brought him into shore after he was struck.
