Forecast calls for groundswell producing four-to-five foot waves

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 24 August, 2015 - Former Samsung Galaxy Championship Tour competitor Pauline Ado (FRA) 24, and recent winner of the Soöruz Lacanau Pro Maxime Huscenot (FRA) 23, have joined forces with WSL officials and Anglet Mayor Claude Olive to announce the inaugural Pro Anglet, starting tomorrow at the iconic Chambre d’Amour.

A men and women’s QS1,500, the Pro Anglet will host the best European professional surfers as well as a flurry of international QS campaigners for a week of high performance surfing on the beautiful Basque coastline of Anglet.

“I’m super happy to be back surfing a professional event here in Anglet,” Ado said. “All the conditions are right to have a great event, waves look good for the week and surfers from all-over the World have come here to compete.”

“Winning in Lacanau was extraordinary,” Huscenot added. “We are lucky to have events at home in France and I have a lot of good memories in Anglet, that was one of my first victories as a grom.”

Official forecaster of the event, Surf Report calls for a West / North-West groundswell producing four-to-five foot waves on Tuesday with offshore winds in the morning, onshore breeze in the afternoon switching back offshore before sunset.

The city of Anglet and the World Surf League have associated to produce the inaugural edition of the Pro Anglet, bringing surfing back to its rightful roots on the Basque coast of France’s iconic South-West.

“We are extremely happy to welcome back professional surfing to Anglet,” Claude Olive, Mayor of Anglet stated. “This town has a long tradition of surfing events and we’re very supportive of the WSL to install the Pro Anglet in the future of our beautiful beaches.”

Event officials have convened surfers to a 7:30AM call on Day 1 Tuesday, which depending on conditions could see either of the men’s or women’s event start as early at 8AM.

The Pro Anglet is scheduled from August 25-30, 2015 at La Chambre d’Amour, Anglet - France. For all results, photos, video highlights and press releases, log on to worldsurfleague.com.
