Surfing for Girls Program to run through Victoria

Surfing Victoria Updates

Program uses positive female role models to bring surfing to everyone

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 26 October, 2017 - This November, the Surfing for Girls Program will head into its 19th year of giving females a positive surfing experience in a safe and fun environment.
The Surfing Victoria run program brings together females of all ages for a day of fun and surfing with female role models across 8 locations in Victoria.
Utilising the abundance of positive female role models, participants are taught water safety, surf skills, and encouraged to continue physical activity into their adult life.
“The Surfing for Girls Program is at the core of what we want to encourage. Learning to surf, being safe in the ocean, but most importantly having fun and being active” said Surfing Victoria CEO, Adam Robertson.
“This program has spawned plenty of incredible surfers including Nikki Van Dijk, India Robinson, Sage Goldsbury and Sophie Fletcher.”
“This program not only is fantastic for females it also allows us to reach communities throughout the whole state who may not get to be involved in sporting programs throughout the year.”
For only $25 participants receive a surf lesson, learn how to perform a rescue and walk away with a show bag.
