Eco Challenge aims to support local sustainable products and lifestyle
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 4 November, 2014 - The Surfrider Foundation Eco Challenge festival is a free community event showcasing sustainable beach culture, leisure and business to local communities around Australia.
Eco Challenge is run solely by Surfrider volunteers and aims to support local innovative and sustainable products and lifestyles to promote a shift from our throw away culture to one of reduced consumption, re-use and recycling.
On November 9th 2014, Eco Challenge will be held on the Sunshine Coast with a full day of family friendly events and activities including:
The Roots of Surfing Competition – surf in a team or enter the expression session and compete on the latest wooden surfboard technology! The competition includes surfboard shaping workshops and a range of prizes for competitors including a Tom Wegener Alaia. Enter here!
Live music by six headlining acts including Oka, Band of Frequencies, Dubarray, Ayla, Matt James Band, The David Flower Band and Those Old Soles
Skateboarding workshops for young and “old”
Kite workshops and display on the beach
Interactive art and eco workshops
Market-style eco village including local food and drink
Free beach yoga sessions
Nigh time film screenings
