ISA World Junior Surfing Games:

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 16 April, 2012 : - - Après la partie festive hier, place au sport avec le début de la compétition dans des vagues d’1m – 1m20 et du vent offshore au long de cette journée. Deux podiums, junior et cadet. L’Equipe de France fait une très belle entrée en matière dans la compétition.

Chez les juniors, Tommy BOUCAUT gagne sa série avec un surf engagé, Tom CLOREC termine également à la 1ère place en assurant ses deux scores malgré le vent soutenu qui dégradait fortement le plan d’eau, et Gaspard LARSONNEUR passe lui aussi sa série à la seconde place.

En cadet, Neslon CLOAREC s’impose sans encombre en scorant le plus gros total de la journée dans sa catégorie (15,10), Nomme MIGNOT fini 1er de sa série et Aldric GOD à la seconde place.

24 séries dans les catégories junior et cadet ont été passées aujourd’hui, la compétition reprend demain dans des conditions similaires, selon les prévisions. On retrouvera les français dans les séries 27, Andy CRIERE en junior et Diego MIGNOT en cadet. Les filles entreront également en lice dès demain (Kim VETEAU série #7, Ana MORAU série #11, Fanny BRICE série #15 et Marion BOUZIGUES série #19).

About the International Surfing Association
The International Surfing Association (ISA) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the World Governing Authority for Surfing. It was originally founded as the International Surfing Federation in 1964 and has been running Open Division World Championships since 1964, Junior World Championships since 1980, and Masters World Championships since 2007. The ISA also sanctions the World Kneeboard Titles and the Tandem Surfing World Title, and held the first stand-alone World Bodyboard Championship in 2011, and the first World StandUp Paddle (SUP) and Paddleboard Championship in 2012.

ISA membership includes the surfing National Governing Bodies of 70 countries on five continents. Its headquarters are located in San Diego, California. It is presided over by Fernando Aguerre (Argentina), first elected President in 1994 in Rio de Janeiro and re-elected seven times since. The ISA's three Vice-Presidents are Alan Atkins (AUS), Karín Sierralta (PER) and Debbie Beacham (USA).
