Three-month waiting period allows for cherry-picked sessions

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 24 September, 2013 : - - The Royal Barrique is a surf contest that became famous because of its format as only tuberides count. The event has been taking place in the south west of France since 2007, bringing together the best local tuberiders in a freesurfing format.

A 3-month waiting period enables Estim Association, the contest organiser, to select the best surf conditions from September to November. When the beach breaks provide sufficient barreling conditions, a text message reaches the 45 guests, the contest is on. Previous winners are : Jean Seb Estienne, Fabrice Gelez, Fred Robin, PV Laborde and Tom Cloarec.
