Best Victorian Juniors will battle to qualify for the Australian Junior Surfing Titles

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 22 February, 2017 - The Mornington Peninsula will play host to the second round of the Victorian Junior Series presented by HIF Australia this weekend.
The second event of the three-part series will see the best junior surfers in the state gather on the Mornington Peninsula with a goal of qualifying for the Australian Junior Surfing Titles to be held in November this year.
Surfing Victoria High Performance Director Cahill Bell-Warren, is looking forward to seeing the action on the Peninsula.
“The event showcases the future of Victorian and Australian surfing along with giving the competitors fantastic experience in great waves” said Bell-Warren.
“Each year we see the level of surfing increase at these events and I am looking forward to seeing all competitors step it up again this year.”
Competitors to keep an eye on across the weekend include current Australian Champions Xavier Huxtable (Jan Juc) and Sage Goldsbury (Phillip Island), along with Sophie Fletcher (Phillip Island), Ellie Harrison (Barwon Heads) and local surfer Max Burton (St Andrews Beach).
Surfing Victoria Official Swell Forecaster Coastalwatch, is calling for some tricky conditions across the weekend. A strong groundswell will be impacting Victoria with moderate southerly winds shifting easterly across the weekend. Competitors will be notified via SMS of any location changes.
Competitor’s initial check in is at Gunnamatta at 7:30am for an 8:00am start. The Victorian Junior Titles is Presented by HIF Australia and supported by City to Surf Mobile Café, Coastalwatch, Cancer Council Sunscreen and Surfing Victoria
