White shark breach caught on GoPro by SoCal surfer

Shark News

While not super-amazing, it is the shark clip that everyone’s talking about

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 22 April, 2016 - Surfers Drew Palumbo and Ben Slaybeck were surfing at Sunset Beach, just north of Huntington when they caught a juvenile great white shark jumping into the air. While not as impressive as South Africa’s great whites that get airborne going after seals, this was startling because of the shark’s close proximity to surfers at a heavily used beach.

"I was out surfing with my friend Ben Slaybeck," said Palumbo on his YouTube channel. "After taking some drone footage of him, I put my GoPro onto my 3d printed mouthmount and went out to catch some waves for myself. Shortly after, I paddled out toward a wave, pressed record, and caught a great white shark breaching from about a 100ft away or so."

Since the video has gone viral film maker Ben Slaybeck has had difficulty keeping his footage on YouTube page. Please see below for Ben’s original clip.
