Who Is Jamie OBrien Is Up for Honors at Surfer Poll Awards And North Shore Surf Film Festival
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 December, 2010 : - - Haleiwa -- 'Who is JOB?' A lifelong local from the North Shore of Oahu, Jamie is looking forward to his film premiering on Opening Night for all of his friends. The film has been a personal journey for Jamie at a pivotal time in his career and this film shows the depth of his talent and the drive and conviction for his hopeful future.
Who Is JOB? Is also being noted and up for honors at the Surfer Poll Awards taking place on Dec 6th at the Turtle Bay Resort, also on the North Shore of Oahu. This highly anticipated event has originally taken place in Orange County, California over the years and for the first time it will be hosted in Hawaii during the Triple Crown of Surfing.
The volume of potential nominees in each category was overwhelming this year, said SURFERs Editor-at-Large, Joel Patterson. The whole SURFER staff spent weeks watching films, debating their merits, and creating a list of nominees. With so many incredible films this year, just making it onto the nominee list is like an award unto itself.
Who IS JOB? is nominated for an amazing seven categories at the Surfer Poll Awards and they are;
Best Surf Film
Heavy Water Award
Best Barrel (Two Nominations)
Jamies outlook in this film and his way of life is not of the ordinary. He feels as if he is on a path of his own, seeking different horizons than other professional surfers. Jamie isnt on a fast track of contest and tours, but has been an invitee at the Eddie Aikau Contest for the past three years. He is more at home thumbing his nose at the glitz and glamour of surf stars and prefers to have great surf session with friends instead. But yet the sponsors want to have a piece of his incredible talent on their roster.
Red Bull and Etnies are two companies that support Jamie in his career at this time and they appreciate his direction and focus. Red Bull is one of the producers of Who Is JOB?
