Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 7 October, 2014 - Norwegian mountain scenery, a perfect point break, the best swell of November 2014 and awesome prizes. XWave, on the exotic location of Flø, have the opportunity to be a unique and classic surf contest in Scandinavia. Forty-eight surfers (32 men and 16 women) get the opportunity to compete on Flø outside the city of Ulsteinvik in Norway.

As a surfer you get to bring quality time with other surfers in and out of the water, and have the chance to win the cash prize of 1000 EUR, a week with Lapoint surfcamp in Morocco and surf gear from Surfshop.no. The exciting thing about XWave is the long waiting period for the competition. The date is not set, but the contest will be held when the wave forecast predicts great condition. The final call will be given four days in advance.

To get great conditions for surfing we have set the waiting period for the whole month of November. We want to develop a contest with high quality, and that is why we need the best possible conditions, says Lars Monsen, contest director of XWave.

XWave is part of the extreme sports festival X2 Festivalen and is all about surfing in high quality waves, laid-back vibe with local, national and international surfers in beautiful surroundings. It will be two days of competition with qualifying heat on day one, and final heats on day two.

We want to share this unique experience and our passion for surfing with everyone who wants to come," Monsen said. "It will be great surfing and a whole lot of fun these two days."
