Eric Akiskalian and Keith Galbraith Score Big in Oregon

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 5 November 2009; - - Camarillo, CA - On October 22, 2009 Eric Akiskalian of Towsurfer.com was in Oregon for the second major swell of the Fall season with local resident and tow partner Keith Galbraith. Joining them for what is being called the biggest day ever surfed on South Reef in Oregon were locals Tim Henton of Oregon Surf Shop along with his tow partner Mark Builder. Both tow teams scored giant waves thru out the day on South Reef and other select locations.

By mid afternoon the direction of the swell was perfect, the winds were calm and the sets started building further as it became more consistent with the surging incoming high tide! That is when Eric was towed into a couple monster set waves and rode what could be the two biggest waves ever ridden in Oregon. Fortunately for the team, one of Eric's giant waves was recorded on video from the shoreline cliff 1/2 mile away, by Tim King of Salem-News.com.

The image above is a frame grab from the footage recorded and the entire ride can be viewed on Youtube,

"I believe that this footage I captured of Eric shows him riding one of the biggest waves, if not the biggest wave ever ridden in Oregon! It was by far the biggest wave ridden all day!" - Tim King Salem-News.com
