Day 3: Stormy conditions postpone Roxy Pro Hawaii again
Surfersvillage Global Surf News; - - After the howling wind and rainstorm last night the contest has been canceled for today, Sunday, November 14, 2004 do to stormy conditions. The next call time will be tomorrow morning at 8:00 am. The big question is who will be the Roxy Pro Champion this year and who will be crowned Triple Crown of Surfing Champ.
Family and friends gathered on the beach at Pipeline Saturday afternoon for a paddle-out ceremony in memory of Jason Bogle; who was lost to Ewing Sarcoma (cancer) this fall. Over 100 men and women, locals and out-of-towners, paddled out at Pipe, formed a circle and sat on their boards. Hawaiian leis and his precious ashes were thrown into the waters that he called home in honor of him. As a helicopter dropped a canopy of flowers from the sky into the middle of the circle a peace came over the place; a peace that Jason will be missed greatly, but never forgotten. His kindness has touched each and every person that has crossed his path. May his spirit live on.
