Bonga Perkins Wins at Denmark as Series Leaders fail to Qualify

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 24 April, 2005 : - - In one of the best finals ever seen in WA Bonga Perkins, from Hawaii, used a combination of traditional nose riding and strong turns with fantastic floaters to score 15.35 for his two waves and win the Denmark leg of the Suzuki Pro.

Jackson had a couple of big re-entries coupled with some good nose rides including a Fantastic Hang Ten saw him finish just behind Bonga. Dave Simmons long nose ride with a neat little hang ten followed by a big slashing cutback finishing with a powerful re-entry helped him into 3rd place ahead of Grant Thomas.

The race to win the Suzuki Pro was thrown wide open when series leaders, Harley Ingleby (NSW) and Josh Constable (Qld) failed to progress from their respective semi finals. After their finals appearance Jackson Close and Dave Simmons are the new point score leaders in what is shaping up to be an extremely close race to win the major prize of a Suzuki Grand Vitara.
