Team Australia announced for World Junior Championships

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 17 March, 2006 : - - Surfing Australia is proud to announce the team of 12 surfers that will be representing Australia at the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships in Brazil from May 6 to 14 at Maresias in Brazil. Team Australia will be contesting all three divisions, the under 18 boys, the under 18 girls and the under 16 boys. Team Australia will also contest the “team” event which consists of members from all three divisions.

Team Australia’s Head Coach, Sasha Stocker is excited with the talent he has in this year’s team. “Each year they get better, their skills, their attitude
and above all, their willingness to work hard to bring the championship back to Australia. Last week at the Surfing Hall of Fame Awards, we introduced the team to the audience which included many former world champions and legends and it was great to see the positive response from the audience and also the positive effect it had on the team being introduced to a room full of surfing champions including Australia’s first Women’s World Champion from 1964, Phyllis O’Donnell”
