THE FIRST YEAR OF OUTGOING.CO.UK/ BUCS SURF CHAMPTIONSHIPS A RIP ROARING SUCCESS
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 November, 2009 : - - The weekend of 15 – 18 October 2009 saw 2000 University surfers take to the surfers’ paradise of Fistral Beach (Newquay) to compete in the annual British University Surf Colleges and Sports Championships This year BUCS teamed up with event giants Outgoing.co.uk (Snowbombing, Beach Break Live, Summer Break) to offer students an unbeatable £39 surf, accommodation and party package that saw an excess of 700 University students surf sleep and party in the snazzy purpose built Surfer’s Village. Amazing surf conditions, great waves, huge crowds, and a large number of new surfers made for an unforgettable weekend, the 2nd largest competition field in the world. Local night club Pure opened it’s doors to a massive 900 student party goers who donned their best fancy dress to dance the night away to tunes spun by top Radio 1 party DJ the legendary Mistajam. Saturday saw 700 students flash some flesh as a pool-side party and ‘Old School Rave up’ took the Trevalgue Caravan park by storm. Full results
