Special screening of Stoked and Broke in Cornwall helps National Trust

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 30 August, 2013 : - - In celebration of the Annual World Belly Board Championships, surf collective Approaching Lines is proud to present a special charity screening of the multi-award winning feature Stoked & Broke from Cyrus Sutton and Korduroy TV. The screening takes place Saturday, 7th  September, 8.30 PM at Driftwood Spars, St Agnes, Cornwall.

Tickets are only 5, with all proceeds to National Trust The charity work hard to conserve and protect our coastline so were stoked to be hosting this screening in their honor says Approaching Lines co-founder, Chris Nelson.
From the EMMY award winning filmmaker, Stoked & Broke is a staycation surfari epic on zero dollars. Capturing the zeitgeist and celebrating the true DIY spirit making their own boards, bamboo rickshaws, solar cookers, and hobo stoves surfers Ryan Burch and Cyrus Sutton set off on foot on a thirty mile, eight day minimalist surf escapade.

Exploring their own back yard and riding all manner of surfcraft from finless chunks of foam to logs and handplanes they find adventure in the most unexpected places. Ive spent years on surf trips with pros to perfect tropical reef passes and I wanted to do the opposite of that, explains Cyrus. Building our own surfboard carts and walking the whole way really made it feel like a crazy trip. Even pulling up at a local break felt rad, like it does after a red eye flight to some island. It felt like wed earned it.
Stoked & Broke strips surfing and the surf trip right back, explains Chris Nelson of the highly acclaimed feature that won Viewers Choice at the London Surf / Film Festival. It has premiered at major cities across the globe so were stoked to able to bring the film to Cornwall for this charity screening.
Tickets are 5, with all proceeds to National Trust and available from Aggie Surf Shop, Chapel Porth Beach Caf頡nd Driftwood Spars in St Agnes, Revolver Surf Shop in Newquay and on the door.
