Board Story: Terry Martin's Uncle Buck model

Surf Culture

Big, pink Hobie stick has been been around the world many times

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 9 September, 2013 : - - The following video is a short subject film about the history of a very special Hobie surfboard that legendary shaper Terry Martin designed called an Uncle Buck. This board has been around the world many times and actually won the Noosaheads Noseriding program several years ago with Christian Wach borrowing the board from Bucky Barry, the owner at the time.

The board's name is derived from Bucky – a Hobie team rider.  It has also been featured in several surf movies, Japanese advertising campaigns, commercials and more.  After several years of constant surfing and multiple owners the board needed to be redone to be able to be surfed again.  This is a story of its resurrection tour.
