Carissa Moore

Honolulu, Hawaii

Child protogé turned double world champ, Carissa hails from Oahu and learned to surf on the South Shore under the constant tutelage of her father. Carissa's surfing and promotion emulate Kelly Slater's (note the release of the "Carissa in Black and White" video). She has the ability to wrap more power in her turns than the majority of women on tour and thus is rewarded by the judges. Many pundits point to Carissa as spearheading the meteoric performance rise in modern-day women's surfing.
