Costa Rica takes their 8th crown as the Central American Champs | Español
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 25 November, 2013 - The Costa Rican team was in top form at Playa Venao in Panama, after claiming 16 of 22 possible individual medals (including four gold) in the VIII Central American Surfing Games.
As can be expected, Noé Mar McGonagle was in top form, winning the prestigious Open division. Although Porfirio Mirando from El Salvador had Noé and his teammates, Anthony Fillingim and Danny Bishko against the ropes to the end, McGonagle came out on top.
The Central American countries shared a lot of success and gold medals, 4 for Costa Rica, 3 for Panama, and 1 for Nicaragua. Panama was once again the runner up in the championships.
With this eighth Central American Championship, Costa Rica proudly closes the year with a qualification to the ISA China Cup. Costa Rica will head to Hainan, China from January 11-19 to compete in the ISA China Cup.
