Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 10 February 2004: - - The Newport Harbor High School (NHHS) Winter Classic went off, over this past weekend! The contest was held in 2-3´ surf, with glassy, slight offshore wind conditions, and drew in over 100 competitors who came to battle it out in 7 divisions: Bodyboard, Longboard, Elementary, Middle School, Womens, Mens and High School.

With blue skies and warm weather, the contest provided a perfect atmosphere for spectators to come down and watch the best surfing the local contingent has to offer! Product raffles and free food kept everyone stoked throughout the event! All finalists left with a bag full of goodies from the sponsors and a handcrafted scaled down surfboard-trophy!
