Gabe Kling wins Matix/Sun Diego Pro/Am
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 6 May, 2005 : - - Event seven of the Matix/Sun Diego Pro/Am Surf Series was held on April 30-May 1, 2005 at Ocean Beach Pier in San Diego, California. It was the biggest turnout of the series with the WQS in town for the Lowers contest which ended Saturday. Wedging 3-5ft. lefts were coming off the north side of the pier all weekend with some occasional scoring rights going against the grain.
Gabe Kling showed why he is currently rated #1 on the WQS tour by taking out the Pro/Am division. Darrell Goodrum used his powerful frontside attack on the lefts to narrowly defeat Puerto Rico’s Brian Toth in the Adio Pro Junior and Josh Buran launched some big frontside airs for his first win of the year in the Sobe No Fear Air Show Division. Congratulations to everyone.
Event eight which is the final event of the season, will be held over Memorial Day weekend, May 28-29, 2005 at Fletcher Cove in Solana Beach, California. It’s an AAA rated event and will be a big one, don’t miss it!
