NSSA Gold Coast Explorer Season Event #9
Huntington Beach, CA EThe NSSA Gold Coast Conference finished up the 2001/02 season at the popular C Street Pipes surf area. A small-scale northwest swell accompanied by a fierce Santa Ana wind condition produced surf in the knee to waist high range.
The surf might have been light but the action was heavy as many competitors were eager to win conference titles and boost their rankings in this event which was five star rated and worth double points.
One up for Santa Cruz as Bud Freitas takes the Gold Coast Juniors title, while Menehuene Champion Cory Arrambide becomes the first and only NSSA surfer to go undefeated this season in conference competition.
