It´s been a long two years for Jason "Ratboy" Collins. Not winning a single Airshow, the contest series he helped put on the map in the late 90s, has been a dry spell that´s turned Ratboy nearly upside down. But today, in the 1´-3´ wind swell at 54th Street in Newport Beach, almost upside is what turned it all around for the Rat.

With a semi-inverted frontside 180 air, Ratboy narrowly grabbed the cheese away from second-place finisher, Florida´s Aaron Cormican. All of the six finalists had opportunities to boost into the winners circle, but it was Ratboy and Cormican who landed the biggest, most technical airs to end up one-two in the event.
