Cory Lopez wins Globe Sebastian Inlet Pro, Kelly Slater come in second

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 06 January 2005: - - Weather: Beautiful day with warm weather and light breezes. Wave Size: 2 to 4 ft. waist high to chest high. Conditions: A new South-East swell brought beautiful clean sets with South-West offshore winds.

Highlights:
The East Coast dominated the finals with WCT surfer Cory Lopez of Indian Rocks, Florida taking home the win, a $7,000 pay check, and a brand new SeaDoo. Coming in second was home town favorite, Kelly Slater, who also took home a new Fender Guitar for claiming the biggest score of the contest, a 9.60. In third was up and comer Aaron Cormican of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and North Carolina’s Ben Bourgeois placed fourth in the final of the first WQS of the 2005 season.
