X-Mas Swell A Red Light

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 24 December, 2009 : - - The Christmas day swell has a red light from contest organizers. "Community rules say no contest on holidays so it's a red light (stop) situation for the current series of swells", said Contest Director Alec Cooke. " We also want to wait for bigger swell conditions. When Waimea Bay closes out and the Harbor reaches capacity is when we will consider the event. It should be a spectacle of extreme proportions."

Christmas day swell heights will be 20-30+ feet and quickly decline the following day according to forcasters at Surf News Network.com, the official surf report can be found on their site.

Tow-In surfers are making plans to book it to Hawaii for the contest.  "Myself and tow partner Al Mennie are super keen to get involved in the N. S. Tow-In Championship and represent Ireland", said Andrew Cotton.  "I'm based in the UK at the moment and Al in Ireland but we'd be prepared to make the last minute dash to get there." Also prepared to compete  this season are Women Tow surfers. Maya Gabiera, Jamilia Star, and Malia Kamisugi.
