Kai Sallas Victorious On New FCS LB Fin

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 30 August, 2010 : - - Hawaiian legend Kai Sallas was recently crowned Longboard Champion at the Murasaki Pro held in Japan riding his new signature FCS Longboard fin. In the final heat of the event Kai defeated local favourite Genki Kino by utilising his radical approach in the small wind affected waves.

A popular favourite in Japan, Kai’s performance in the early rounds combined stylish traditional nose riding on the open face, with critical fast turns as the waves closed out on the inside section. This latest result cements Kai as one of the most versatile and progressive longboarders in the world.

Kai was riding his newly released signature FCS Kai Sallas longboard template throughout the entire event. Designed by Kai for performance longboarding and available in 6.5” and 7”, this popular template has been quickly adopted by many of the world’s best.

The FCS Kai Sallas longboard fin features extra length at the base of the trailing edge, which produces exceptional drive and hold through turns. The extra area in the base quickly tappers into a narrow tip allowing for acute directional changes. Performance Glass (PG) construction creates a stiff base with a smooth flex through the top third of the fin.
