Two Aussies, Two Champions, ring the The Bell's Bell for a second time

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 7 April, 2012 : - - Bells Beach, Victoria, Australia. What an amazing event. Excellent waves and unusually warm weather throughout the five days of competition. Mick Fanning and Sally Fitzgibbons, both Australians, were crowned champions and both 'Rang The Bell' for their second time. Even more remarkable, both champions defeated multible world champions in their respective finals to achieve their victories.

The Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach presented by Ford Ranger wrapped up on Friday with clean four-to-six foot waves steaming through Rincon and the Bells Bowl.. Mick Fanning (AUS) defeated 11 times world champion Kelly Slater (USA) in the final to claim his second Bells Bell. Joel Parkinson (AUS) and Jeremy Flores (FRA) were + 3rd.. Many described the final heat as the 'best heat ever' in the 51 years years of Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach.

Bells Beach, Victoria, Australia. - The final day of the Rip Curl Women's Pro Bells Beach presented by Ford Fiesta wrapped up today (Saturday) with Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS) making it back to back wins defeating four times world champion Stephanie Gilmore (AUS) in the 40 minute final.. Fitzgibbons defeated current world champion Carissa Moore (HAW) to make the final while Gilmore defeated Tyler Wright (AUS) in the other semi final... The event witnessed sensational surfing throughout the week and culminated today in solid four-to-five foot waves pumpimg through at Bells Beach..
